About Bennett Ridge Vineyards
Bennett Ridge is a prime California vineyard that grows wine grapes for small commercial wineries and for home winemakers. Located in the Russian River Valley appellation, it is in the heart of one of the finest wine growing regions in the world. We are growers of 11 varieties on 6 trellis systems to achieve top quality wine grapes. Our grapes are produced commercially and are available for purchase at competitive prices. We are a small vineyard and we have several varieties, thus our yield is ideal for purchase in small winery and home winemaker quantities. Our minimum purchase is 300 pounds per variety and we have available a few tons of each of the primary varieties. We have small quantities of other varieties so you may inquire.

Bob has limited quantities of premium grapes but if you can secure some, it may be worth the effort...

Because his property falls under the quarantine zone in Sonoma County, you have to crush your fruit there on his property unless you have a permit. He charges an additional $50 for crushing which is average for rentals at most retail shops. Personally, I find this additional cost a little greedy. An easy perk many home winemaker appreciate is offering free crushing... ESPECIALLY if you're in a quarantined zone and I'll be forced to anyhow. How many home winemakers have permits??

You'll have to pick your own fruit too which is a must-do experience at least once or twice... but don't kid yourself. It's hard work and you'll appreciate vineyard crews MUCH more after picking a few hundred pounds. You'll beg for a crew if you're alone picking anything more than that.

The fruit is good, Bob is a great guy, an incredible resource with his experience but the forced crushing fee after a LONG day picking is tough to swallow. There's many other places of competitive priced, quality grapes that have the fruit picked already (all you do is pick it up the day it's harvested) and crushing is free if required.

If you're local to Healdsburg and can process your own grapes, want great fruit, and the experience of picking your own fruit, this is a great source to do so.
