About Tzabaco Rancho Vineyards
Tzabaco Rancho Vineyards is located in the heart of the Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County and proudly produces premium wine grapes using sustainable winegrowing practices for a number of major wineries and an enthusiastic clientele of home winemakers. Established in 1856 and continuously farmed by family members, our vineyard is planted to multiple white and red varietal clones that make wonderful single varietal or meritage white and red wines.

12/21/2011Janice Schmidt will forever get my business. Vintage after vintage. The quality of fruit is OUTSTANDING. Her vineyard is among some of the best and many commercial wineries agree.
From my own personal, home winemaking perspective, she is VERY accommodating even for small orders. My first experience, I only purchased 100-250 pounds of fruit per varietal. My second vintage, I purchased up to 400 pound per varietal. She offers some great Bordeaux varietals and now has Zinfandel (one of my favs) as of 2011.
Because most of Sonoma county is still within quarantine (stupid moths), unless you have a permit, you'll have to crush your fruit there on the ranch... which isn't an issue because her Zambelli crusher is FREE to use. Need yeast? Enzymes? ML bacteria? SO2? Yeast nutrients?... everything is available and Janice will help measure it all out based on the amount of fruit you're buying. This is one-stop shopping for home winemakers!
Her prices have always been fair and she has always been there to help answer questions during the winemaking process. I love the wines made from her vineyards and wouldn't think of buying these grapes from anyone else.
